Nothing quite like waking up to the sun rise above the Sydney Opera House….. Alas this was not our first morning. We woke to the wind blowing across our “sahara desert” drive way – we wait (patiently!) for our neighbours to find $5,000 to construct a new fence so we can complete the driveway. But I digress.
After our little girl asked us for the past week to sleep in the caravan we decided last night was the night. So at 6:30pm, 4 trips to the caravan, everyone including the dogs were ready for our first night. It was quite nice getting away from the box for the night – it is not as if we are missing anything.
It also gave us an opportunity to try out the mattresses (let’s keep it clean – this site has a PG rating – plus have you seen the poles that support the beds!). The night turned out really well as one of the mattresses was thicker than the other so this will need to get replaced before we venture out.
I had also been trying to talk Rob into going down to Margaret River in May. With the temperature dropping a little last night it made me appreciate living in the campervan and all the nooks and crannies where the wind comes in – I have now changed my mind.
We returned to the house at 6:30am and in a strange way I felt like I had been away.
